I would say that 10 years ago on our last visit to Railay beach, Krabi was like paradise. We spent a large part of our honeymoon, in Thailand and absolutely fell in love with the people and the place. I never remember times and dates but can vividly remember people and places and I will never forget the friends we met back then. Retrospectively we probably made a mistake in going over previously traveled ground but we really wanted to come back to Thailand and maybe foolishly try and relive the times we had had before.
Thailand was the only destination on our trip barring Elka, that we had all been to before and it was for us a sort of homecoming away from home, somewhere familiar, somewhere we knew, after all the strangeness of the other places we had visited, somewhere where we thought we could relax.
After Pattaya we caught a flight to Krabi and spent a couple of days in Wannas Place on Ao Nang beach which unfortunately cannot be compared to the beauty of Railey beach on the next bay . We were completely underwhelmed by the Krabi experience the second time around. We thought it was maybe because we were staying in a different area but it is more to do with the fact that Thailand has turned into a bit of a Costa, if you know what I mean .
